Louis Vuitton to Launch First Fragrance

Louis Vuitton may be renowned for their leather goods and clothing line, but now the label is set to try out a new venture - Louis Vuitton have just announced that they are working on their first fragrance. The label have enlisted Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, a third-generation perfumer from Grasse, France who is set to begin work on the new perfume in January next year. The perfumer has already worked with high-end labels such as Nina Ricci and Christian Dior on some of their past scents, so take that as a sign that this will be a product that is likely to have its own campaign. Louis Vuitton did once sell fragrances in the 1920s (Sur la Route, Reminiscences and Heures d'Absence were three of their past scents), but since then have not re-entered into the market.

Designer for the label, Marc Jacobs, who is rumored to be moving to Dior, has hoped to launch a fragrance under the Louis Vuitton name, as he has been very successful with other scents under his own eponymous label, with bestsellers such as Daisy, Lola and Bang.
