Viktor & Rolf are one of the few labels that still have the ability to surprise us. For Spring/Summer 2012, they abandoned their previous Medieval vision from the season past (including the red face paint), and bombarded us with pieces inspired by dolls. With pink eyelashes and wearing intricately detailed gowns, Viktor & Rolf steered into a new direction, inspired by a doll-like perfection. Dresses featuring giant pink stitches were a main compound of the show, as though crafted by giants, this played up the idea of doll clothing again. Ruffled heels, patent leather bags, baroque cut-out waist corsets and circular sunglasses that looked almost like flowers were some of the best accessories on offer, while the duo completed the show with one model wearing an angelic looking veil over her head - what better way to end a show about dolls than with a wedding themed ensemble?
