Givenchy's Shimmering Spring 2012 Collection: The Details

Riccardo Tisci may have gone print heavy for the Spring 2012 menswear collection (you can't miss the 'birds of paradise' print which covered much of the designs) but he decided to go more minimal when imagining the womenswear,  creating a selection of soft and shimmering pieces as the end result. He chose a light blushing beige to begin with, while also adding some black, olive and silver into the mix - a restrained colour palette that was fresh and natural. With figure-hugging tailoring, scuba-skirts and a few unusual textures added - silver sequins, studded chains and patent leather. This collection was organic and clean, with sleek lines, attention-grabbing yet not over designed accessories, and enough glamour throw in for good measure. Plus, the perfect wavy beach hair that goes so well with the surf inspired ad campaign (see it here). Another drool-worthy Tisci triumph.
