Spring 2012 Beauty Trend: Statement Appliqué Makeup

Makeup artists have turned to appliqué to make catwalk designs look even more dramatic and memorable, turning the model's face into a piece of art all on its own. From metal eyebrows to gold foil eyeshadow, these additions to the face are bolder than ever before, accentuating the designer's idea and adding a whole new dimension of creativity to a catwalk look. Karl Lagerfeld's underwater vision was made complete with wet-look hair and pearls added to the face, while Viktor & Rolf added pink lashes and a pink plastic cat-eye flicks to finish off their Barbie inspired beauty look.
