Paris Fashion Week: Céline Autumn/Winter 2012

The Céline Autumn/Winter 2012 presentation was scaled back to an intimate showing for just editors this season, as Phoebe Philo prepares to welcome her third child. The collection was just what we've come to expect from the French label: sharp streamline tailoring punctuated with bold colour, oversized statement coats with wide lapels and an array of accessories to top it all off: silk foulards, gold heels and luxurious oversized leather clutches. The collection's most noticeable pieces were the coats: almost reaching floor-length and with an array of textures and details (from patchwork to pink fur), while Philo's attention to detail meant that even the simple pieces held surprises, from unusual textures to zips running up through the knees. Philo may have had to down scale the show, but it wasn't for a second any less grand.
