It might seem strange that some of the world's most beautiful women have been bullied, but plenty of them have experienced hateful taunting or worse, mostly at a young age. Young children can be cruel, especially if you look or act different, and many of these models were picked on for their unique features, which ironically later helped them forge a very successful modeling career. Lindsey Wixson was bullied in middle school because of her now famous gap-tooth but later gained her confidence back as a model, while Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was regularly mocked over her famous full pout which is one of her most original and beautiful features.
Chanel Iman
"I've always been judged and bullied for being tall and skinny my whole life. Early on I listened to others and failed to appreciate what God gave me until I at last excepted what an amazing blessing it was to love me for me."
Lara Stone
"It hurts when you're having a tough day and someone says, 'She's so f**king ugly I wouldn't let my dog near her.' Yes, they have, and 500 people 'liked' it!"
Lily Cole
"I remember feeling very insecure. When I'd meet people, I would think they wouldn't like me - that was an actual thought process - because I'm a redhead. It's absolutely absurd. Teachers often let it happen because there isn't a stigma around it in the same way there is, quite rightly, about racism. Any form of bullying should be stamped on because children are so fragile and it affects them."
Lindsey Wixson
"I was actually always really self-conscious about my gap. In middle school, this group of girls were always trying to beat me up - they called my gap a parking lot... I felt skinny and tall. It was the worst time of my life. But I don't feel like that anymore. Modelling has really helped build my confidence."
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
"I got teased because of my lips...I used to get called 'T*t Lips' -- because I had big lips but no breasts. And then I was called 'Kipper Lips' and boys didn't really go out with me."
