Karlie Kloss is captured by Mario Testino for the July 2012 issue of Vogue US in an editorial which explores the stunning Bahia region of Brazil, but some are already calling out the editorial for being racist - why? The editorial has two images which feature locals - the first is a woman tending to Karlie's elaborate mermaid-tail beauty treatment, and the second sees Karlie in the middle of dancers performing traditional Capoeira moves. So, why is it racist? Just because it features black people as extras in the shoot, doesn't make it racist - if the same people were white, it wouldn't even be mentioned. This editorial celebrates Brazil and pays homage to its rich culture and beautiful landscape, while Karlie Kloss pulls elaborate and awe-inspiring poses.
