Mario Testino on Gisele: "Nobody Liked Her, Nobody Wanted Her"

Mario Testino has credited himself with helping legendary Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen launch her career. The photographer says that when Gisele first arrived on the scene "Nobody liked her, nobody wanted her". He made the effort to help her get noticed by flying to shoot her and pushing people to like her uniqueness:

"I had to fight to get her into my stories because nobody thought she was right – too this, too that, the nose, the breasts, the waist. But I believe in being obsessed, in getting obsessed."

Commenting on why he is always drawn to work with British model Kate Moss, who he estimates that he's worked with around a thousand times:

"She's fun, generous, she has taste, she's beautiful, I don't know what it is we have, because I'm so much older than her, and she's rock'n'roll, but if we're in the same room we'll be sitting next to each other within five minutes."
