Christopher Kane Will No Longer Design for Versus

It has just been announced that British designer Christopher Kane will no longer design for Versace's Versus line, and they're even cancelling the usual bi-annual catwalk presentations shown at Milan that they launched with the young designer at the helm during the previously defunct label's relaunch.

The end was according to reports a "mutual agreement" between Kane and Donatella Versace - it was recently rumored that Kane was in the running for the Balenciaga position, but he has since denied this. According to WWD, the label will instead produce a:
“season-less line with a strong digital element that will be designed by Donatella Versace in collaboration with a number of yet-to-be-named young designers, stylists, and creative talents.”
This would seem to match up with a recent rumor that Donatella was working on a fashion collection with M.I.A. - perhaps it's for the new Versus collection? Watch this space..
