There is a Female Model Who is Signed With Ford Models as a Male

Scanning over Ford Models' male board, you wouldn't initially notice anything unusual about a model named Casey Legler with short spikey hair and sculpted cheekbones, but Casey is actually the first female model to be signed as male, just like Andrej Pejic before her, who has forged a career as a female model despite being male.

Casey's career came about when her photographer friend Cass Bird, who has achieved international fame for her work, was casting a male model for a shoot, but couldn't find the right person - until she realized Casey fit the bill better than her male counterparts. Shortly afterwards, Ford came knocking, and now it looks like she's set for stardom. Fashion continues to push the boundaries of androgyny, beauty and much more, and although some might say she's riding on the back of just another current model trend, others would applaud her for being the first woman brave enough to do it in the first place. Speaking on her attitude about just being a free person, Casey commented:
"What I wish is that we all get to be exactly who we are. And… sometimes that’s complicated. We have very specific ways in which we identify ourselves as men or women. And I think sometimes those can be limiting. It would be a lovely place if we didn’t necessarily judge or jump to conclusions because someone wants to wear a dress or wants to wear pants."
