Catwalk to Wardrobe: What to Wear on a Tropical Getaway

There isn't going to be enough room in your hand luggage for everything. That is unless your a folding genius or won't be bringing a laptop. Yes - packing for that week long trip to paradise is actually one of the most horrible (yet exciting) tasks there is. There will be bikinis mashed down sides in quick Kung Fu style movements, dresses discarded at the last minute and sandals crushed in on top in panic.

Shopping for new pieces before hand is thankfully simpler: take a peek at what the catwalk had to offer for the Spring/Summer 2013 season.

Chanel's now legendary giant hula-hoop bag was worn with semi-sheer/cutout swimsuits. Paul & Joe put together a beach ready look - a plunging printed swimsuit teamed with bright sandals. Isabel Marant teamed a monochrome bandeau bathing suit with her embellished mid-heels. Rochas offered a vintage inspired two-piece look including high-waisted bikini bottoms and a structured bodice, both in a light print. Tommy Hilfiger's retro one piece was splashed with a 70s inspired zig-zag pattern and paired with round shades.

Be it a week on the sandy shores of Bali or exploring the French Riviera, here is a look at some tropical getaway essentials to get you started.
