Céline Take Inspiration From 'Laundry Bag' Print

Phoebe Philo dressed models and wrapped her luxurious accessories for Autumn/Winter 2013 in what reviewers of the show have been calling 'laundry bag' print. Taking a simple check design that you might find splashed on a generic canvas bag, Philo reinvented the style with a thick, intricate weave which distorted the fine lines of her statement pattern in to a something fresh and modern - and perhaps even made a subtle commentary about mass production in the process.

Adding the revamped check to some of the collection's most stand-out pieces including a loose cocoon-meets-cape coat, wrap skirt and even two bags (including the ubiquitous 'Boston' style), Philo committed to turning a perhaps banal print in to something luxurious and covetable - and in an instant - sh achieved it. These pieces will end up all over Vogue covers for the season to come and will likely be snapped up by those eager to embrace Philo's designs as part of their own style.
