Hilary Rhoda is the latest cover star of Net-a-Porter's 'The Edit' magazine. The model poses for a simple studio editorial inside the issue and also opens up on her career, getting an education and how much she loves fashion. She also talks about her wedding dress plans as she recently got engaged to Sean Avery.
On always having a back-up plan to go back to education if modeling didn't work:
"I thought that if modeling didn't work, I could get my education after. It was a risk but I'm glad I took it. Being grounded is important. If you get caught up in the model lifestyle and the compliments, people won't hire you if you let that go to your head."
Hilary loves being surrounded by creative people and finds it inspiring:
"You're exposed to these amazing designers who are making clothes straight onto your body. Seeing the best stylists put things together give me inspiration to try different things. I like to be comfortable. I went to a Catholic school so I wore a uniform every day. That drilled something into my brain about dressing simply."
On her wedding dress plans:
"I think I'll towards something simple. I loved Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's wedding gown."
