Lara Stone on Her Rehab Stint, Her Big Break & Life at 30

Dutch-born model Lara Stone appears inside and on the cover of the April 2014 issue of Harper's Bazaar. Captured for a simple studio-set shoot by photographer Daniel Jackson, the model also sits down with the magazine to speak about her career, her struggle with alcoholism and her life now.

On getting her big break:

“When I stop and think about it – which I don’t do very often – I think, ‘This doesn’t make any sense.’ I look around and see thousands of girls who could have had this career.”

On her alcoholism battle and turning a corner:

“One day I woke up and thought, ‘I can’t live like this anymore. I picked a lot of fights in my day. But no one ever wanted to hit make back.”

On meeting her husband David Walliams for the first time:

“On our very first date, I was so nervous. I was in the cab home afterwards and thought, ‘I should text him and thank him for dinned.’ When I did, he texted back, ‘Who’s this?’”

 On recently turning 30:

“I’ve only been able to say it out loud for a few weeks now: I. Am. 30. I have a house, a husband, a good job, a beautiful baby – at the moment I don’t have anything else to wish for.”
