Charlotte Gainsbourg On Her Style & Nicolas Ghesquière

French singer and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg has spoken on her personal style, revealing that she isn't that focused on clothes because she doesn't see it as part of her job, and just wears whatever feels natural to her. She explained that she doesn't like to take getting dressed too seriously:

“I don’t really want to pay attention to clothes – I don’t see it as my job. I like it when it feels natural, but talking and analysing... I find that weird. The most important thing for me is not to take myself too seriously. I like casual things, so I have to have a casual attitude.”

Charlotte is close friends with former Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière, who is now the creative director of Louis Vuitton and enlisted her to appear in the label's Autumn/Winter 2014 campaign. She explained that she has always followed the designer's career closely:

“We’ve been friends for a long time. I really followed him during his time at Balenciaga and the gap [between Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton] was painful. He was really missing – it seemed like he was gone for ages.”
