Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Says People Don't Expect Her to be Smart or Funny

British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has commented that she often feels people's expectations of her are low, and no one ever believes she could be smart of funny. The model comments that she is often shy to show her personality but wants to be braver: “When you’re renowned for your physicality, people—not just men—tend to think you couldn’t possibly be smart or funny. I like to think I have a little bit of personality. But I can be shy and nervous to expose myself. This year, I want to be a little freer, not so confounded by what I’m going to say. Most people have lower expectations of me, which is sort of fantastic. Because then the only way to go is up, right?”

She doesn't want to be around people who constantly praise her, and believes in honesty: “I don’t want to surround myself with people who are always telling me, ‘You’re so great,' I want people around me who know that whether they’re saying something good or bad to me, it penetrates.” She isn't interested in just being the face of everything - Rosie wants to be a businesswoman and launch her own brand: “I don’t always want to be the face of everything, I think you have to take risks in life and scare yourself. You have to push beyond your comfort zone in order to grow.”
