Kate Moss's 90s Calvin Klein 'Obession' ads are still some of the most memorable and iconic fashion images of all time. Captured by her then-boyfriend and photographer Mario Sorrenti, the photographs had a stunning simplicity - snapped in black & white - that captured the British model's raw beauty.
Kate has commented on capturing the images at the time, explaining that Calvin just saw some holiday photographs and wanted to recreate that mood: “Calvin saw Mario’s book and it was all pictures of me on holiday, and he was like, ‘Great, I can see it’s an obsession,’ and he saw it, and it was obsession. I would wake up in the morning and he would be like taking pictures of me, and I’d be like, ‘Fuck off.’”
Kate says that she split from Sorrenti soon after: “We split up after that. Now I understand that kind of thing a bit better, capturing an image and working, doing those things, but at the time I was 17.”
