Alexander Wang's collections for Balenciaga have seen the label change rapidly to reflect his own vision - and his touch was strongly felt throughout the Resort 2016 collection which was entirely monochrome, often minimal but with dashes of prints and details to avoid banality. Structure was key, with coats and dresses somehow defying gravity through artful construction, instead falling further away from the body to create a dramatic new silhouette. The collection was clean, and mixed wearable with an avant-gardé touch, though it remained grounded and feminine.
