Creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon took their inspiration for the Opening Ceremony Resort 2016 collection from the Westminster Dog Show. Imagining how the owner's of the groomed pedigree dogs they saw might appear, their canine inspiration is even celebrated with a dog printed sweater. The clothes have a slight 70s feel, with abstract prints in deep woody shades, oversized circular belts and a few other hints taken from the era. There is also something modern about the pieces - the cuts of coats were boxy but structured to flatteringly skim the female form, oversized leather biker jackets and some unique textured mesh-like material was a successful bid to subtly modernize their vision.
