British model Cara Delevingne recently switched from modelling to acting, landing her first major role in 'Paper Towns'. In some of her promotional interviews for the film, Cara candidly bemoaned the downsides to her career as a model and many branded her as ungrateful for her honesty. Now, she has reflected on her modelling career again, explaining that she is thankful for all it has afforded her: ''I genuinely appreciate the opportunities that my career in fashion has given me. What started my modelling career was a bit of luck and some great teamwork. As a model, I've learnt that you have to work hard and put in as much effort as the whole team, and then some. I get to work with so many inspiring people and I have made some of my best friends through my modelling career.''
On the subject of beauty, Cara says people need to just look around and become more aware: ''As for beauty, real beauty is everywhere and you just need to be open to the opportunity of seeing it with your heart and soul. There are so many things that makes a woman beautiful. Confidence, integrity and talent are just some of them."
She loves how makeup can transform her: "I don't wear make-up every day, but I love to wear it for special occasions and mark the transition from day to night. Make-up plays a huge part in my professional life, and I love the way I can use it to transform myself. I love mascara ... And eyebrow gel, of course! I have so many iconic red lipsticks, and like both matt and balmy textures.''
