British model Cara Delevingne has been speaking about her past recently, opening up on dealing with her mother's drug addiction and her own depression. Now, she reveals that during her teenage years she was "completely suicidal" as she rose to fame. She explained: "I was completely suicidal, didn't want to live anymore. I thought that I was completely alone. I also realised that I had a wonderful family and wonderful friends, but that didn't matter. I wanted the world to swallow me up, and nothing seemed better to me than death, which is completely insane."
Cara has spoken so honestly on her own struggle in the hope that people feeling similarly will seek help and feel open to speak about their problems. She commented: "Mental illness and depression is not something to be ashamed of. My message has always been to accept yourself no matter what, to love yourself, to embrace your flaws. I think flaws are the things that make us special."
