Bella Hadid is one of the fashion industry's most in demand faces - but she is also battling Lyme Disease. The model recently explained that she struggles to keep up with her workload because the disease often leaves her without energy and there have been times when she hasn't been able to speak properly. She commented: “It starts with brain fog; for a while I couldn’t put sentences together. I’m really tired a lot. A few weeks ago I had a big campaign shoot that I had to reschedule. It’s hard, but I push through, because at the end of the day, if you’re not working, somebody else is."
Bella has been candid about her experience, recently sharing a snapchat of herself hooked up to an IV drip and captioning the pic "everyday". The model contracted Lyme Disease in 2012, discovering she was battling the illness when her mother, Yolanda Foster, was diagnosed. The tick-borne disease was also found in her brother, Anwar. Although not contagious between humans, the reason three family members all contracted Lyme Disease is from being around the same environment where the infected ticks are found.
She previously wrote about she is often halted from doing normal activities: "I have been struggling with Lyme and other co-infections for the past two years which has debilitated me from riding my horses, going to school, and struggling with work which are all the things I am so passionate about."
